railroads are deeply woven into ponce city market’s history. next to the redeveloped property runs the atlanta beltline—an old rail corridor that has been transformed into a park. during the glory days of rail travel the southern rail company, now norfolk southern, owned and operated the former railways. when ponce city market was asked to be the opening race act for the 2015 redbull soapbox race it was the property's historic ties to southern railway that helped drive the theme.

cheer packs were assembled and distributed to employees of jamestown and ponce city market. this was an opportunity for ponce city market to collaborate with redbull in order to showcase the newly opened property and its tenants to the public. the event brought over 50,000 guests to the market for minimum business dollars and helped increase social media traffic.

aside from being a great way to promote ponce city market, it also served as a chance for team building within the new jamestown office. the jamestown headquarters is in atlanta, georgia had offices in the area that dotted the map. once ponce city market was complete in december 2014, jamestown moved all employees to their new office on the 7th floors. multiple departments were now under one roof and participation in the redbull event was a chance to tap into multiple talents and bring the employees together.
